Therapy

"The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity" - Amelia Earhart

There are many reasons to seek out a psychologist, such as:

  • You are in the middle of a dilemma or decision regarding your relationships or your relationship with yourself and want direction from a professional.

  • You have noticed patterns of feeling or behavior that are difficult for you.

  • You have been referred by your doctor or a family member that is concerned about you.

  • You are relatively sure you should seek therapy for your difficulties.

  • You have been in therapy before and either felt it was helpful or feel you should be in therapy again.

No matter what reason you have decided to meet with me, we take the same steps during the course of our meetings:

  • understand you and what you are seeking from our meetings,

  • work toward your goals, and,

  • build confidence in the changes.

The specific reason you are coming to see me determines how long we may take with each step, and the specific things we will do with our meetings. Each step may be accomplished in a portion of a meeting time, or may take several meetings.

The first thing, though, is getting started. To do that, you give me a call and we get to speak briefly about what you are looking for. At the end of that conversation, you get to decide if you want to schedule a face to face meeting.
